Iowa's Kirk Ferentz says things could be worse -- he could be a sports writer

Kirk Ferentz, who is earning $5 million and change to coach an Iowa team that is unbearable to watch, was driving home and realized things could be worse.

He called a line of questioning an "interrogation," which even if it was the case, comes with the territory of being a P5 head coach. Well, Ferentz is thanking his lucky stars he's a coach and not a sports writer. Ferentz: "I could have been that guy. Like, had his job and had to act like he did. Could be a hell of a lot worse, right?"

Being a sportswriter still beats being a Black player on his team

Or being a producer of Brown urine.

Would've been so much better if if he completed the thought.

"I could've been that guy ... had his job ... smegma of society ... "

Oh for the days of Tavian Banks.

Or a coed around his football team.

I'd argue the fans have the worst of it. They don't even let the kids with cancer watch the games anymore because they're suffering enough.

Maybe Kirk wants to go back to 1999, his first season, a winless campaign in the league (and a single nonconference win), when Iowa still (and may yet) have a teleconference for writers covering the opposing team. I was on one of those once. And the only one on it.

Between this guy and McCaffrey Iowa may be get that top 5 ranking, in head coach asshattery

Either way, he’s wasting kids’ scholarships.

If Kirk thinks he's getting a rough ride from the media, or Iowa athletic department, he needs to take a look around his own division.

Two teams that will probably beat the Hawkeyes this year -- Wisconsin and Nebraska -- already fired their coaches.

It's also a fact that after the offense's horrid performance in the second half of last season and the first half of this one, any other FBS school would have fired its offensive coordinator. Hmmm ... wonder why that's not happening in Iowa City?

The end of 2022 might be a good time to make a new start, in this Iowa graduate's humble opinion.
