Has anyone else seen this series on Discovery that has Jeremy Piven traveling throughout India. It's like Wild On ... but totally boring and without hot chicks. Apparently he's not anything like Ari in real life.

I watched about 10 minutes of 1 episode, pretty bland. I kept waiting for him to grab some random Indian and yell..."lets hug it out!!!"

    sadly...it was a serious show.

Isn't he wearing a terribly ironic shirt about food or something while on this trip? Thought i heard that somewhere ...

    I found it culturally enriching.

It's funny because so many of his characteristics have that nervous, fretful energy that makes them funny. Remember him in The Larry Sanders Show or in PCU? there was a little bit of Ari Gold in those characters.

I can't get over his hair plugs. Must be nice to have money. :(

This guy is like the Ricky Proehl of bad 1980s actors. He turned marginal talent at best into a long, productive and recognizable career. (And, yes, the hair plugs are a modern marvel. Dude had a combover when he was like 19.)

In this Discovery special, did he happen to chase a naked Lucas into the shower stall and threaten to slap liquid heat on his quivering buns?

I'm a big piven fan. he just seems like a genuine guy.
and he's had a remarkable career. have you guys ever looked at his page on IMDB?
    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005315/

he's been in several on my list of the most rewatchable movies I've seen.
PCU, Old School, Say Anything, One Crazy Summer and the highly underrated Gross Pointe Blank.
didn't remember him from heat, the grifters, singles, the player or blackhawk down.
and then he's got stinkers like larger than life (the bill murray elephant movie), dr. jekyll and ms. hyde, car 54 where are you? and judgment night.

now THAT'S a career. he's been in a couple blockbusters, he's been in some great TV shows, he's done some serious movies, he's done stoner comedies and he's done some ridiculously bad shit. i imagine in 90 percent of those things he played the wisecracking sidekick, but it's got to make for a helluva living.
