Joel Embiid shoves Philly Inquirer columnist

Joel Embiid will not be subscribing to the Philadelphia Inquirer anytime soon.

After last night's game, Embiid took exception with a column from Marcus Hayes, who invoked his son and dead little brother when ripping Embiid for his lack of availability for the 76ers.

That's when things got pretty choppy. Embiid zeroed in on Hayes, the two went back and forth and then Embiid shoved Hayes.

Normally, I'm very pro-media in all of these interactions, but I can certainly see why Embiid thought that column crossed the line.

Marcus Hayes is a dingus. I don’t blame Embiid at all.

That said, it seems Embiid is not long for Philly anymore. And both sides have done just enough to ensure his trade value is the lowest it could possibly be for one of the best bigs in basketball.

I would love to meet the team security person who asked the gathered media not to report on that. It would be the best directed laugh I've had in a while.

Is it surprising that a NBA superstar pushing a reporter thread on here only has three replies?

I’ll add another reply in favor of Embiid.

A link to the column would probably help, though I realize why there isn't one.

Props to Emblid. A player, team, game, whatever related to the team is fine. Diving into a player's family stuff is BS.

Physical contact is unacceptable. I can see why Embiid was livid, but part of being a pro is handling ire without violence or anything close to it.
