Why do you think that the producers have "options" on all of the finalists and the winner is the person who the greatest number of people have voted for and invested at least the cost of a text message to support? The show is aimed at "creating" a pop idol with the widest audience potential. Sure there have been misses, but the "research" showed that those singers had the best chances to succeed. And I agree, looks do count, a lot.

Time to bring this back up. My daughter says it's Lennon-McCartney again. So here's the "horses for courses" as to good song choices.
--Jason: Here, There and Everywhere: It's in his wheelhouse, plus has a couple of spots where he can show safely expanded vocal range.
--Cook: Norwegian Wood: Sounds like one that has some creepiness in it that he could have fun with.
--Archuleta: Yesterday: He could hit a home run with it, and I don't think even he could forget the lyrics.
--Michael: Help: Has some big vocals in it, so he could smack a telling blow against Carly, if he doesn't just cruise again.
--Ramiele: If I Fell: Tailor-made for her pretty/pretty quiet voice.
--Jacuzzi: Bungalow Bill: Had success with a fun, country vibe last week, and this would be in that wheelhouse (tho it is hard to say what his wheelhouse really is)
--Kristi Lee: Rocky Raccoon: She's stuck being Underwood Lite at this point, and this time should try a song that actually is a bit country.
--Brooke: Lady Madonna: Would show her off on the piano again, and would actually add something fun to the resume.
--Amanda: Helter Skelter: Telling you, it's about the only song in that songbook that really fits her.
--Carly: Day Tripper: One of the big vocal songs in the songbook. Interchangeable with Michael's, really.
--Shyesa: ???: Doesn't really matter, nothing fits her. I pick her to be the one to go when all is said and done.
