Why do you think that the producers have "options" on all of the finalists and the winner is the person who the greatest number of people have voted for and invested at least the cost of a text message to support? The show is aimed at "creating" a pop idol with the widest audience potential. Sure there have been misses, but the "research" showed that those singers had the best chances to succeed.
