That was a pretty freaking great episode right there.

I knew Peggy would never stay mad at Don. Those two were made for each other, at least professionally.

We knew at some point he would make an appearance.

Liked the episode, didn't love it. Pete acts like a hypocrite with Trudy in terms of dating, which I thought was ridiculous. I did enjoy the Don-Peggy scenes very much. The dance scene was very nice, because it shows that Don is now seeing Peggy as an equal, even while the others are still patronizing her.

Just like Don did with Betty.

Thought it was interesting that for a third episode in a row, Don is starting to show his loyalties. First with Roger, then with Harry, now with Pete and Peggy. Even a bit with Ken Cosgrove. Those were always his people.

Liked how the episode closed with Peggy, Pete and Don. They have no consistent family in their lives and so they eat with their work family at Burger Chef. The traditional family is dead and I'm sure they are going to win the Burger Chef pitch now.

I'm sure I'm not alone in this ... I got a little nervous when Don asked Peggy to dance and thought, "They better not."

I had a moment like that but it ended up feeling father/daughter, I thought.

They even talked about it in terms of home away from home, at least at dinner time, which it certainly is for them.

Exactly my progression, too. I did have an uneasy moment there.

    Same here.

Reading on Wikipedia, it said that Peggy's father died when she was a teen. Maybe now she sees Don as some sort of father figure.

Also, Peggy tells Pete he has something on his face, like a mother would do to her son.

As for Don & Pete being hypocrites about their exes dating, that's pretty consistent with men of that time (or any other time, really) so I didn't have a problem with it.

That final pullout inspired about four different emotions and thought lines.

    Nostalgia.

Oh my god these people have broken lives and their only reason to live is Burger Chef.

These people have found community with a new sort of family.

Oh my god, this is the beginning of the obesity epidemic.
