Didn't Ted's transformation from "I'm not doing this anymore, this is killing me" to "well .... I guess" seem a little quick. Beginning of the episode, he has a death wish and at the end it's back to NYC!
Also, don't understand why Joan remains so anti-Don. If you read Molly Lambert's recaps on Grantland it's because Don threatens the business and that means he threatens her chances to put food on the table for her son, but CTFO.

Ted might thane come around when Cutler told him not to listen to Don because of what Don convinced him to do in the past (move to California). Cutler thinks Don forced him to Cali and doesn't know that Ted begged Don to go.

As for Joan, Don didn't just cost her $1 million+ ruining the IPO (something he didn't even know was coming, if I remember correctly), but he did it by firing Jaguar. He thought Joan would approve of that considering what she did in order that SC&P could get Jaguar (and her partnership) in the first place. But she didn't want what she did to be completely brushed off as insignificant. After that, she was going to make certain everyone knew she is a serious partner at the firm, even as others, like Don and Roger and Cutler go rogue.

I couldn't get used to seeing Kiernan Shipka smoking cigarettes. I still think of her as a little girl. She's grown up before our eyes.

Cracked up laughing when Harry tried to get in the owners meeting, only to be told to take a hike. By not signing when he did, they're going to sell without him being a partner and he's going to be out a lot of money.

Also loved Sterling's line on Neil Armstrong spending the rest of his life having sex with women in Florida.

Just an excellent episode.

I can't believe people liked the dance number at the end. It was otherwise a great episode, but it makes you feel that the viewers are taking the show more seriously than the writers.

Initially, I thought the dance sequence was Robert Morse botched the episode.

Watching the episode a second time, I absolutely loved it -- a curtain call for Morse/Bert and the role he played in the show.

I really didn't get it and after reading the usual recap suspects, I still don't. The best explanation is that Don's happy not because they all got rich selling out, but that he was back doing the thing he loves the most with his Burger Chef defined "family".

One little thing that hasn't been mentioned but should be, the huge smile that breaks across Ken's face when Joan tells Harry he can't come to the emergency partner's meeting.

Earlier this season Cutler made reference to Don convincing Ted to go to California and that it had crushed Ted. It's understandable that Cutler would think that since Don suggested it in a meeting last season. However, Cutler doesn't know about the Peggy situation or that Ted begged Don to let him go to Cali instead of Don.

Cutler is really overprotective and controlling of Ted (he's always trying to vote as Ted's proxy, just assuming Ted would vote his way).

Yes! That was a great hidden gem.

Another hidden gem, when Peggy said to Don he's never seen her pitch before and Don responding, "I've overheard things." ... that being him eavesdropping on her Heinz ketchup pitch with CGC when she borrowed his "change the conversation" line.
