  1. MANAGING EDITOR, GOLFWEEK.COM

Golfweek.com has an immediate opening for a managing editor, with duties that will include day-to-day editing and design, tablet project development, web development and overall digital strategy.

If you are excited about the opportunity to bring great stories to life, on deadline, for a great golf website, beat our competitors on breaking news, help us in the development of various tablet initiatives and lead a staff of talented journalists, this job is definitely for you!

We are looking to move quickly with this hire, as we are entering a key stretch of events across all of our platforms - which includes junior, college, amateur and all pro categories. We truly cover it all, and this role will be key to our site successfully keeping each channel fresh with new content and creative direction.

This position is considered to be a mid-level management position, in which the employee will be expected to make decisions in the director's absence. The position is located in Orlando, Fla., with our facilities near all of Central Florida's biggest attractions.

Golfweek.com has grown by nearly 300 percent in the last 18 months and is coming off the best five months in the site's history, so you will be joining a digital squad that has great momentum and is thirsty to continue its rapid growth.

    • Proficiency with AP style
    • Experience in a newsroom or similar environment, ideally for 3 or more years
    • Ability to strategically use social media

    Desired qualifications
    • Knowledge of HTML5 and other web languages
    • Ability to write, blog and generate content
    • A thorough knowledge of golf beyond the pro game, including junior, amateur and college platforms
