Managing Editor / Sports Publishing Crystal Lake, IL National NFL publication seeks managing editor Do you have a passion for covering the NFL? Looking to take the lead at an established brand as it seeks to grow national audience? Shaw Media is seeking an experienced sports editor for the job of Managing Editor / Sports Publishing. This editor will work with General Manager Hub Arkush to lead the editorial team at Pro Football Weekly as it enters its 50th year covering the NFL. The person in this job will be based in our office in Crystal Lake, Illinois. They will supervise staff writers and solicit and select queries from freelancers in NFL cities around the country. The PFW audience receives our news in multiple different ways; the ideal candidate will work to connect with the audience on platforms including social media, newsletters, TV and podcasts, on our website at ProFootballWeekly.com, and during the NFL season, in our weekly print product. Annual fantasy football and NFL season preview magazines also are part of the PFW catalog, and we need an editor who can manage these projects from start to finish and also provide insight. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in journalism or comparable experience, and five years' experience in sports editing. They must understand how many different ways the NFL matters to fans, from the hometown fan to the daily and season-long fantasy player.
