So--not to jack the thread, but--how do you think he'll do? I'm about 50-50 between top five and way down the list.

This will be an extreme test of his Nicklaus-like concentration and confidence.

Nah, but 60 Minutes will be doing their impression of her with their questions.

My guess is pure talent puts him in the top 20. But as great as he is, I just think's it's going to take more than a weekend of competitive golf to overcome months of distractions. I don't think his concentration and confidence will be hurt long-term, but now we know he's all too human, so the events of the past few months have to have some negative effect.

I would say that asking the world's top golfer how he has addressed the problems that kept him from his sport the last six months - ie, a bevy of mistresses, marital infidelity, and a supposed addiction to sex and prescription drugs - are all very relevant questions.

Probably much more relevant than, "How have your practices been going?" or "Isn't it great to be back at the Masters?"

If Tiger comes back and wins the Masters, there would be no recourse than for the PGA Tour to shut down — forever.

With your line of thinking, you could try to circumvent a certain website's ban on political discussions by framing them as discussions of the "news". :)

  7. Agreed. I'm not talking about those questions. I'm talking about things like specific questions about mistresses, allegations, etc., etc. Just probably a waste of time, if nothing else.

If Tiger gets Yang'ed again it will be 'gentlemen, start your psychoanalysis.' Would be far better to miss the cut, then he could fall back on being rusty.

Please . . . we'll hear more than enough from Jim Prance in a few weeks.
