It is possible that even if McGregor loses, as long as it's respectably, he could transition to boxing and work his way up against various pigs and tomato cans as he learns his trade. He's still got the name and let's face it, there are fewer upsets in boxing than in UFC.

He wouldn't do that because there's no money in it.

I'll go Mayweather in 3. He'll be cautious in the first to see what McGregor has, then he'll get to work.

Either that, or some bizarre thing happens to create a push for a rematch that makes WWE look like scriptwriting geniuses.

  5. My friend who is a professional boxing judge and has written at least 1 fight history book thinks Maywheather wins on points.
He thinks Connor will come in to the ring at 170.
Citing Mayweather's brittle hands and McGregor's high pain threshold he says it goes the distance.
And it will be a boring fight.

Mayweather whenever and however he chooses, probably by decision

Mayweather in 7. TKO due to McGregor's eyes being swollen shut.

Unless Mayweather breaks his hand with the lighter gloves.

Mayweather, unless his ego gets to him and he tries for an early knockout. The only way McGregor wins is if he catches Money with a powershot early... and early, Mayweather's not going to stay still for it to land. He'll stay away, jab and move, and rack up baskets full of points every round. I don't see it ending early unless McGregor catches him with a big punch.

How does a guy in his first professional boxing match get a fight with a 49-0 champion? How does the Nevada commission allow it?

No way in hell do they get my money for this dog and pony show.

This has been an interesting side story to all this. I've read articles interviewing ringside doctors saying they are worried for McGregor's health. But the answer, as with everything about this fight, is money. If Las Vegas makes money, so does the NSAC. The commission lives in a constant state of conflict of interest.

The more you think about it, if McGregor does go the distance it will be like a real life Rocky. He is completely outclassed as a boxer. Boxers with significantly better skills than him, have found it extremely difficult to hit Mayweather. After 6, or even 4 rounds of getting hit and not being able to hit Mayweather, McGregor will be very frustrated and fatigued. TMZ is laughed at by most serious sports journalists, but that host with the orange tanning salon tan made a good point. He said if McGregor becomes frustrated by not being able to hit Mayweather, will his natural MMA instincts take over and will he throw an elbow or spin kick.

He isn't known for his stamina in MMA so I doubt he goes 12 rounds in a boxing match.
