MEN'S US OPEN GOLF POOL-- Round 3 standings updated

Rules

1. Pick one (1) golfer out of each of the pools (Major winners and three random pools) and any two (2) alternates [EDIT] with at least one (1) alternate coming from the three random pools. Players will need to rank their golfers 1-4 for purposes of a tiebreaker (see below).

2. Alternates will only come in if one of your starters did not play, withdrew, was disqualified or cut. You will retain your starter's score for up until his last completed round. Your alternate will then begin play and only his score from that point on (added with the starter's score) will be counted for your team.

Scoring

3. The winner will be the team that has the lowest total score in relation to par. Par is 1120 strokes (that's 70 times four for each round and multipled by four for the total number of rounds). Par will be reduced if the tournament is shortened by officials.

4. If you fail to have four golfers finish the tournament, your team will be disqualified.

Tiebreakers

5. If in the event of a tie for first place, ties will be broken accordingly

A. Any team needing an alternate is eliminated (if there are still teams tied, those teams move to B)
B. Highest finish among player on team (if there are still teams tied, those teams move to C)
C. Golfer ranked No. 1 by teams (if there are still teams tied, those teams move to D)
D. No. 2 golfer (if there are still teams tied, those teams move to E)
E. No. 3 golfer (if there are still teams tied, those teams move to F)
F. No. 4 golfer (if there are still teams tied, those teams move to G)
G. A Alternate (if there are still teams tied, those teams move to H)
H. B Alternate (if there are still teams tied, those teams move to I)

Dear FH: A couple of queries before I take the plunge.
As I understand the rules, your alternates must come from the three non-major winner pools. Is this correct? If so, more than one team will fail to make the cut in this event.
If one tiebreaker is how well our number one pick did, MUST he be from the major winner pool? Could I list, say, Sergio is my number one, and Tiger or Phil as number?

Upon further review, I'll allow one of the alternates (but not both) to come from the major pool. I'll amend the rules accordingly.

You can pick any of your four golfers for the No. 1. It doesn't have to be the major winner.
