The idea that "Sam should have been taken three rounds earlier" is idiotic. If he was that good of a prospect - a legit 4th rounder - someone would have grabbed him in the 6th.

So the difference between idiotic and reality was being picked in the sixth round or being picked in the seventh.

Brilliant!

The point is if he was truly a 4th round talent someone - other than a team with extra picks who really didn't need him and seemed to want to make a statement based on the head coaches own quotes, would have grabbed him and known they got a steal.

And his assertion that he should have been picked higher is a joke. Maybe instead of going and doing the talk show circuit after the season he should have worked out a little so he didn't produce embarrassingly bad combine results.....

Nah, can't be that, this is the new America where everyone has an excuse and everyone else is to blame....

Yes, that's a good point.

Why argue about it until camp? It's Jeff Fisher's problem or happy surprise now.

Because America isn't as comfortable yet with the gay community as it should be, or would like to tell itself it is. When this isn't breathless news, that's when we will have advanced to where we should be.

Did the league conspire with Fisher, a prominent member of the competition committee, to take Sam to minimize the criticism that would have occured if he wasn't picked?

I have moved my theory from "tradeoff for not docking the Steelers a draft pick for Tomlin's sideline shuffle" to "tradeoff for allowing Rams to hire Gregg Williams two days after the Sam coming-out party." :)

Regarding the highlight you showed, what I saw was Sam getting blocked, then scooping up the ball after his teammate made a play.

I believe this is where someone on the board would note that a person is talking out of the wrong end of his anatomy. Sam is #52. He made the sack and strip. The player who recovered and ran for the touchdown is Shane Ray.

Go find a place on the board where you might know what the fork you're talking about. There has to be one, somewhere.

Whoops. My bad.

Of course, you edited the posts to remove the parts that poke holes in your argument. Must be that you can't answer them.

You can find a highlight reel of just about every player who was drafted that makes them look great for a play or two. One big play doesn't make a small, slow defensive lineman a top draft pick. But hey, I know you will cling to that minor point for moths even though you are dead wrong on the overall argument.

Your theories smell of bullshirt. How nice for you that they are impossible to back up, so you don't think you have to do it.

OK, here's a guy who's supposedly too small and slow for top-level who was able to excel in his final season in what is the NFL's top major league, the SEC. This indicates to me he's worth taking a flyer on. Sam has maximized his abilities in competition. That counts for something.

Nobody said he isn't worth taking a flyer on. What people are saying is that he was a late-round talent and that's right where he was taken.

That argument isn't such a good one. The sports media might think that. But that doesn't make it true.

Good heavens, let's hope not. If I was a player that did not get drafted, I would be pissed if that were true.

Of course, if you were a player that did not get drafted, you had signed a mini-camp contract seven minutes after Mr. Irrelevant was chosen. :)

I'd read that piece earlier. It's just chock full of good points.

Translation: It has opinions that you agree with, so you like it.

Just saw that ... when you're right, you're right ...

Oh I don't bother with any of your opinions anymore. They're nonsense and they only lead to two more pages of nonsense.

I just like it when you have to admit you are wr-wr-wr ... although I notice this one leads to the same pattern. Whether it's a Jewish PED cheat or a drunk high school volleyball player or now a 47-page thread about a player that you have NEVER SEEN BEFORE and cannot identify on a video yet apparently feel equipped to discuss in great detail, what we have is oop always being right until he is proven wrong, but the other person stays wrong because the reason that person was right is wrong. Right?

It's a nice Monday for me, making you acknowledge being clueless about who Michael Sam is while continuing to debate his NFL worthiness.

Once again, LTL draws a conclusion not supported by the evidence.

I made a sloppy mistake and admitted to it (thus proving you wrong in your claim that I won't admit when I am wrong). But that does not come close to meaning what you are trying so desperately to make it mean.

You are dead wrong about me never seeing him before. heck, everybody who has watched ESPN since the guy came out has seen him. And I'm not foolish enough to rely only on my own eyes to evaluate the guy. I've read and seen plenty about him, as has anybody who paid attention to the draft. He had a lousy combine and his workouts since were only a little better. He is too small to play defensive end, yet lacks the speed and other skills to move to linebacker. He is a one-dimensional player who did most of his damage in only three games, then faded. Whether that was because teams adapted to him or he wore down or whatever reason you might want to apply to it, that is not a good sign.

You have no evidence at all to support your theory that his decision to announce his sexuality had any impact at all on where he was drafted. None.

Bottom line is, you can't counter my points, so you want to use my error to duck them. Your conspiracy theories are bullshirt that you can't support, which is typical of you. And you keep deleting parts of my posts that you can't answer, hoping everybody will be too lazy to see the manipulation.

Also, what does Ryan Braun being Jewish have to do with anything?

Vince Young must be gay, too, because Cleveland would never cut him otherwise.

I mean, the guy was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Wait, "Gay" is now a euphemism for "shirtty Quarterback With No Work Ethic"?
