MLB 2014 season thread

Apparently Troy Tulowitzki was spotted in New York at the Blue Jays-Yankees game instead of Denver to support the healthy members of his Colorado Rockies against the Pirates. I'm guessing he wants out.

Well, "A_QB is a bitter fanboi" argument, isn't quite up to snuff, either. Just wonder how many athletes oop believes journalists here have wrongly accused of using PEDs. Has there been any athlete that does well that posters think are "cheats" just because? As for the lack of privacy complaint, any journalist who thinks privacy overrides uncovering cheating is a person who likely hasn't risen very high in the business.

Tulowitzki went to Philadelphia to see Dr. William Meyers, considered the leading sports hernia specialist in the country and said he drove up to New York to watch Jeter play.

And he can "want out" all he wants. He's pretty much untradeable unless the Cardinals give up Carlos Martinez and Oscar Taveras, which I doubt they will.

There have been reports that the Mets are interested. And they have pieces like Noah Syndergaard that could go a long way toward landing him.

The Astros promoted Mark Appel to Double-A Corpus Christi, and, in doing so, invited him to MMP to throw a bullpen session.

To which, current Astros players took things about as immaturely as possible.

Gotta think there's a strong disconnect between players and management.

You really don't think many of the PED accusations out there come from bitter fanboys? You don't think there are PED accusations that are nothing more than "he is too good?" That is what I was talking about in using A_QB as an example. Unfortunately, the source of accusations doesn't matter to some observers. "This guy has been accused of PED use! He's a cheater!"

I'm really not sure if you don't understand my overall argument or you are intentionally missing the point fling crap at stuff you don't like. I'm not defending proven PED users. I'm defending suspected users when the evidence either does not exist or has not been discovered yet. I'm not sure why that is such a challenging concept.

Name a few players where the accusation is based on "being too good."

A_QB insists that every elite player in the steroid era used some for of PED. Does that count?

Write more tightly if you are going to deliver another 500-word sermon.
I value my time on Sunday more than having to plow through that.
And, dude - get over yourself.

You clearly need the help, but you aren't worth the extra few minutes it would have taken to tighten that up. Spare us the excuses. You are trolling again and that means you don't bother to try to comprehend the other side of a discussion.
There is no other side, small man.
La Russa managed six guys who showed up on the Mitchell Report.
This doesn't include known cheats Canseco and McGwire.
Tony is the one whose plaque needs an asterisk.

Not every name mentioned in the Mitchell Report was a proven PED user. Lumping them together is inaccurate and inappropriate. Either you don't know that and are posting from a position of ignorance or you do know and it and you are posting dishonestly.

Even if all six were PED users, we don't know exactly how that stacks up to LaRussa's contemporaries because you didn't bother to check and because it is pretty damn likely that there are PED users from that era not listed in the Mitchell Report.

There is plenty of reason to criticize LaRussa for things we do know, including the DWI. There is no need to engage in guesswork.

I think it's fair to criticize him for not winning more with players who were actively cheating.

Again, you don't know how many cheaters the other guys had.
