Which is fine if that's the case, but listening to some of the presser and reading the articles, the organization definitely appears to me to be implying there were other contributing factors.

Wren had differences with Smoltz and Glavine, mainly because those two could never admit they couldn't do it anymore.

Rangers avoid a 100-loss season by winning No. 63 tonight.

They had a 35-35 start and have won 9 of their last 10, but the ones in the middle were the problem.

Angel Pagan out for the year.

Blanco is hitting pretty well and can handle center field. For the wild-card game, I wouldn't be surprised to see starting left fielder Chris Dominguez, he of the nine career plate appearances.

The Giants' offense the last few years just hasn't worked without Pagan at the top of it. I'll still hope, but I don't see much chance of playoff noise.

Blue Jays score seven runs against Felix Hernandez in the fifth inning tonight, eight in 4 2/3 innings to bump his ERA for the season from 2.07 to 2.34. He hadn't given up more than five earned runs in one start all season.

For a star-crossed Royals fan like myself...

This has been the greatest two-day stretch for the Royals since the last weekend of October in 1985.

Mariners have lost last four 42-8 but still have a chance.

Benches empty early in LA after Puig HBP by Bumgarner. But, Bumgarner drove in both Giants runs with a two-run homer, his fourth HR of the year (Just as many as Jetes).

This is really a fun game. Sandoval (playing third) just tagged a runner out at second after a blooper to center drew both middle infielders out of position.
