His writers have the talent to pull it off, but when I heard about it a couple weeks ago, my initial reaction was, "Why the fuck would you do that?"

The smarter move would have been to just have Bedard take over the column like he did when King was at his brother's funeral a month or so ago.

 

"Special correspondent JR talks about watching the University of Toronto win the very first Grey Cup, in 1909...."

 

I look forward to his dispatches on Tim Hortons coffee vs Starbucks.

Isn't PK on vacation? I know he usually takes the month leading up to training camp off.

c. I’ll be at two games: Montreal at Calgary on Saturday afternoon, and Hamilton at Saskatchewan on Sunday evening. I’ll be writing a CFL-apolooza for my Monday Morning Quarterback next week, live from Regina.

d. I’ll be driving from Calgary to Regina, and if all goes well Saturday night, I may just have a beer in Medicine Hat. Now, how many people outside of those on the great prairie can say they’ve had a beer in Medicine Hat? Suggestions appreciated, by the way.

I give King credit for one thing - he isn't doing the Vancouver-Toronto-Montreal thing - I figure he'll find the Canadian Bret Favre on his jaunt. I wonder if fantasy football is a big deal in the CFL, are the points in metric? And who are the 10 best players who logged time in the CFL?
