His barefoot friend only had one foot amputated? Pretty obvious that shoes and socks are only 50 percent effective against frostbite.

DeSantis might be playing some 3D chess. Many of the olds move south from blue states, and they all should have exemptions that keep them from contributing to the tax base.

Well of course it's a reflection of them. I'm not talking about politicians; there was a serious lack of coordinated effort from the healthcare people at least in my area to have people get the booster

I doubt it. I just looked. There are less than 75,000 people in nursing homes in Florida. There are 4.5 million people 65 and older in the state. The relatively low rate of older people who have been boosted is not being explained by nursing homes not getting booster shots into arms.

I agree with you (well, assuming you'd agree) that it is shitty if there are people incapable of taking care of themselves who are not getting boosters they'd want if they could take care of themselves. But when you filter out the people in those nursing homes who outright refused the vaccine, people in nursing homes who are not elderly, and then factor in that around 55 percent of nursing home residents who were vaccinated have been boosted at this point in that state (your links were old), you are probably talking about 30,000, maybe fewer, people that fit the category in your links. It's morally repugnant, but it's not explanatory of a cohort of 4.5 million people.

I really don’t think that messaging will matter that much. Florida is a red state at this point and it’s not turning back anytime soon.

So what. It deserves to be noted, on the record and on the campaign so he has to publicly answer to it.

Florida voted for Clinton once and Obama twice. It's not a lost cause.

He was off the air for like five weeks. Also has MS, so, yeah, quite lucky.

    Get the damn shots.

Our bugnuts leadership never ceases to amaze. Only a few days after finally getting all hospital patients into actual hospitals (as opposed to car parks), we get this. Oh, and schools' summer break has been brought forward to March. Parents must be thrilled.

    Agreed.

But I still can't figure why older folks willing to double-vaccinate wouldn't be willing to boost as well. It doesn't make any sense.
