Yeah, I'm right there with you. "Sports" was such a great album, every song a winner to me.

I wish their success could have matched that for a few more albums, but it's still one of my favorites. Caught the band two nights in a row on the "Sports" tour, epic shows in city auditoriums 75 miles apart. Much more fun than stadium or arena shows would have been.

And this song is always a favorite. Double-barreled raw power in the music and the message ...

I had already matriculated to Prince and Springsteen by the time Huey Lewis came along. Y'all have fun.

Huey Lewis had some serious lyrics, but we all remember his band by a couple of goofball songs and videos like "I Want a New Drug" and "Hip to Be Square." He had a sense of humor, but humor in music sadly has a short half-life.

Plus he like looked 50 in 1983.

My junior high-aged self always chuckled at the “Big Log” song title.

My 52-year-old self does, too. :)

His first solo album, Pictures and Eleven, is a great record

One of my favorite songs from the 80s....and I am not a Zeppelin fan at all.

An old favorite, happily revisited again tonight.
Elvis covered it, too, but it ain't half as good as this ...

Another fine version here, decades later and backed up by Foo Fighters ...

On October 15, 2014, White appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman alongside the Foo Fighters to perform "Polk Salad Annie." Pointing to White, Letterman told his TV audience, "Holy cow! ... If I was this guy, you could all kiss my ass. And I mean that."

Nashville may not be ready for it, but I don't think Beyonce cares.

I'd add that it's past time that the Nashville country establishment pulled their heads out of their backsides and give female country artists some damn air time. If it takes a Black woman to get that through their heads, so much the better.

This is Billy Joel's first new song in several decades. I know how I feel about the AI treatment. Your mileage may vary.

Warner Hodges played lead guitar for Jason and the Scorchers. This is him telling road stories, mostly, about guys he opened for an played with. Some guitar and equipment talk as well.

IDK, I like Dave Edmund's version better.
