Man, I'm jealous. Haven't seen them in a couple of years, but they are one of the best live bands anywhere.

For shits and giggles, Huggy's top five Hip songs:

    1. Wheat Kings
    2. Nautical Disaster
    3. Last American Exit
    4. Scared
    5. Three Pistols

Saw guitarist Steve Vai in concert the other night and as good and as entertaining as his 150-minute show was, he had an opening act, Orianthi, who only played for 30 minutes, but SHE was a good, young guitar player (I think she's only 21). Carlos Santana and Vai have both put her in as the opening act. She's from Australia.

Here's the link to her site and there's a myspace page link on the home page of this link. Enjoy!

Huggy, then I shouldn't mention to you that the concert was fantastic. They played among the tunes:

    Ahead by a Century
    Courage
    Yer not the Ocean
    At the Hundreth Meridian
    New Orleans is Sinking
    Grace Too
End with Little Bones and Family Band
Did an encore to a David Bowie cover of Queen Bitch (Gord Downie rocked the house down in the encore)

It was a sold out show and I can tell you why. The Hip are one of the best live.

Also, last night went to the NBC Universal Party for the opening for the Atlantic Film Fest, where Buck 65 and Heavy Blinkers played. Another great show.

Funny, I came on here to praise Vedder's work on the soundtrack. It's simply outstanding. It's all I've been listening to lately when I'm working at my computer.

Here's the link to the movie's website, the music will start automatically and there's a music player you can click on that will let you pick between songs:

I've been meaning to share this. Another CradleRobber exclusive...

Lupe Fiasco feat. Matthew Santos - "Superstar"

First confirmed single off his upcoming sophomore album The Cool, slated for release in late November.

I didn't really like the dude and never gave Food & Liquor much of a chance, but I'm digging this track for some reason. I'm curious to hear what IJAG and others think.

Anybody heard anything about the soundtrack to the movie "The Hottest State" ?

Apparently, Ethan Hawke wrote a book 10 years ago that has now been turned into a movie.

And for the soundtrack, he got Jessie Harris -- a collaborator with Norah Jones and Bright Eyes -- to pen all the songs. Then a bunch of the top indie acts out there lended their vocal talents.

Anyways, just by looking at the artists, this sounds solid, but I've read mixed reviews. Any of you have any thoughts?

The book's not bad, though. I read it when it came out and liked most of it.
