The funniest cover ever done of Ring of Fire is by Frank Zappa.

You might find this more interesting -- One of the songs on the album is called "Creedence Song"

I guess we have different tastes. Lyrically, I thought it was great.

Lupe is what many people would call the "savior of hip hop". A rapper who actually focuses on his lyrics! :D

I picked up Run DMC's greatest hits today. God that stuff is great. The thing I love about them is that they weren't gangsta, but at the same time, they didn't go Mickey Mouse on you. They told you not do drugs and go to school and learn, but at the same time, they'd embrass you if they had too ;D. And they're "insults" weren't as "graphic" as today's insults. Instead of going with bitch or cock sucker, they said things like sucker m.c. and sad face clown ;D. Instead of rapping about how they were going to kill you, they rapped about beatiful things like addidas shoes and eating finger lickin' fried chicken ;D

It's good enough. Love "The Pretender," which starts the album, but I'm not liking it as much as past CDs. I would still buy the CD again because I love the Foo, but it's more solid than anything else.

Then again, I just bought it today, so please take this with a grain of salt.

  6. The secret word for tonight is RING OF FIRE! Let me try 'n explain this to you, folks: This afternoon at the hotel I was introduced for the first time to Johnny Cash, and Johnny was going to come to the concert tonight, and he was going to sing with us. Unfortunately his wife got sick so he can't come tonight, BUT . . . this afternoon we actually learned how to play a reggae version of "Ring Of Fire," and we've been trying to decide whether or not we oughta play it even if Johnny's not gonna sing it. Now, maybe you can help us decide. How many people would like to hear "Ring Of Fire" if Johnny is not going to sing it? How many people DON'T want to hear "Ring Of Fire"? I think most people want to hear "Ring Of Fire."

Foo Fighters is one of my favourite bands and I do have the new CD. While it may not be as strong as the other work the band has put out, I still think it's worth a buy.

This is what it's all about.

  9. Key line -- "You can't go wrong/if you play a little of that Creedence song."
He's made peace it seems, finally. It's a good record, too.

It's about time, he was very, very bitter about the whole Creedence thing. And with good reason IMO.

I've only heard a couple of things about the album, but they aren't good.

But he does put on a hell of a live show. Saw him in Louisville about 10 year ago, just when he started to play Creedence songs and had his first tour in a long time. Sounded just as good as he did on the great albums.

  11. Fantasy Records was bought by new owners a few years back. The first thing they did was pay Fogerty all the past royalties owed him. That had been the biggest issue Fogerty had with Fantasy. I think not having control over how his songs were used was secondary. I'm glad to see that he's getting what's due to him.
