So here's the deal. I'm working Xmas eve and Xmas day. My mom is going to be in Minnesota, my Dad is working, my lady "friend" is doing her family deal two hours away so I decided to work the holidays and make some extra bank. Wrong! My cheap ass company has said if you work both days you can only claim the extra pay for one. Now how many people are going to work both days? Me, two news people and a few people in the press room. The paper can't bite the bullet for five or six people working both days? Cheap ass bastards! I hope they all burn in hell and since I'll be there too I can't wait to see the devil's henchmen shove pineapples up their asses!

You could always call in sick on Xmas and make your place scramble to find a replacement on Christmas Day. I'd bet that person will get holiday pay.

sorry bro, but it's your own fault for not knowing the rules before you volunteered.

have a nice holiday though ;)

Both days as in... what? Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? If so, that's not terribly unusual. Christmas Eve isn't a holiday at my shop. I'm here right now, working at the usual rate.
Now if you're working both Christmas Day and New Years Day, and they're only going to pay holiday rate for one, you're right. They suck.

I can see your point, but those rules weren't annoucned until two days ago. So needless to say I'm putting in for a full day today, but working only four hours. Stick it to the man!

I volunteered to work an Easter once. Once.
I found out it wasn't a paid holiday; never volunteered again.

Christmas Eve is not a holiday, so why is there an expectation of extra pay? Grow up.

Exactly. And if today wasn't a Sunday, there would still be mail delivered on this day.

Understood, but anyone working Xmas eve only is getting paid double-time, but if you work both Xmas Eve and Xmas you can only get paid DT for one day. Fair? I think not sirs!

You lady "friend" -- muwahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahhahaahahahaahaahhahahahaha. Try future wife and mother of your children. Say hi to the guy who's alergic to pot and the man with two first names for me, melock.

Curse you sir, but well played. The man allergic to pot isn't here and neither is the man who wants to smoke candy cigarettes. If he comes in before I leave I'll make sure to pass on your regards. And I believe Santa left a present for you on your desk.

But at least they let you keep your uniform from that day, judging by your picture!
