I would love, and I mean love, to see the Patriots in a Wild Card slot this year.

So you're talking out your ass. He didn't do the stabbing, what he did was initially try to cover it up. Far cry from murder.

He's a piece of shit as well as your golden boy Rapelisberger, but saying he murdered some one is not factual.

    To quote JC....

How do you know he didn't do the stabbing?

Plus, he was close enough to the action to get blood all over his white suit.

Let's not bicker and argue over who killed and raped who. This is supposed to be a happy NFL thread!

Loser of tonight's Jets-Pats game still has a 3 game lead for the second wild card with 4 games to play. As a Jet fan, you have to assume the worst.

Oh Fuck, just stop. Go back and do a little research if you can't remember. You know waht says he didn't do the stabbing, the evidence.

Now I'm sure you'll respond by moving the goalpost and telling me that the club they were at wasn't up to code and probably should be held responsible for the stabbing in the first place.

OK, was talking this over last night. "Dangerous" is not a word I would use to describe the Bears. At this point, I would begrudgingly accept sneaky good. But I don't see dangerous. The Bears have become a good team that is playing solid football. But you cannot get far in the playoffs with a terrible offensive line and a defense that while good, needs to execute almost flawlessly to beat good teams. Yes, the Bears have beaten two of the teams I think truly are dangerous — the Packers and Eagles — but the Packers win was due more to 18 penalties on Green Bay than anything the Bears did. The Eagles game was the team's signature win, but I'm willing to guess that 90 percent of Bears fans would not feel good if the teams met again in the playoffs. I just see the Bears as a team that has no margin for error against top competition. In the playoffs, they can't count on other teams to fuck up throughout a game, and the flaws they do have are glaring enough that they can be exploited on any given day once January rolls around. I will gladly admit I was wrong re: their standing in the NFC if they can finish out the season by splitting their matchups against the two best teams on the schedule (Patriots and Jets) and sweeping the Packers. This team has taken advantage of plenty of breaks, and that, in effect, makes them a good team. But like I mentioned, I've seen Bears teams do this before (2001 and 2005) and then flame out when faced with postseason adversity. That's the vibe I get from this year's version.

Dear YGBFKM: If they beat the Pats next Sunday, will you change your opinion? I hope so.

I definitely wouldn't be surprised if the Bears were one-and-out. Unless they end up as the No. 3 division winner and get the West winner, I wouldn't necessarily favor them against any of the other likely playoff teams, even in a home game. Heck, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them go 1-3 or 0-4 and miss entirely from here.

I just don't think it's a done deal. No one in the NFC is so amazing that they don't have a fighting chance against anyone as well. They play amazing defense, their special teams is amazing, and Cutler is talented enough to move the ball against anyone (even though he's also stupid enough to give it away against anyone as well).

I just said if they split their remaining AFC East matchups and beat the Packers, I'm on board. But I should probably give the team its due if they just beat the Pats. Of course, the last time these two teams met, it was a wake-up call for Bears fans. Ya, the team went on to the SB, but after losing to NE (I think the score was 17-13), it was painfully obvious that it could not compete with the giants of the AFC.

And granted, as attached as I am to the Bears, I'm not always the best judge of how good/bad they are. I'm ocassionally prone to the hyperbolic on either end. But I've followed this franchise long enough to be reasonably confident that I generally have a good sense of what a given team is capable of. And trust me, this is the kind of rare thing for which I would not mind being wrong. Ultimately and unfortunately, though, I haven't been very often over the decades.

If the Bears end up as the #3, they won't get the West winner. They'll get a wild card team, who will likely be much stronger.

The Bears are going to be favored, next Sunday, when they hang up the line on a broad basis after tonight's game.

And all things considered, they should be.
