    Goddamn, I love that avatar.

Yeah, the NFL does remind me of college. You'll get a lot of entertaining games but it's all just killing time so Bama/Clemson/Georgia (NE/KC/??) can hoist the trophy.

I will be glued to Red Zone every week, though.

There’s so much cliched bullshit in this post wouldn’t know where to start.

The Tyree play wasn't luck? It’s the epitome of luck. Run that play 100 times and it works once.

“Grit and desire” put Tyree in them for his”grit and desire”. I think I need a David Eckstein reference now.

Can someone point me to the years that Eli was considered a top 5 Qb. Should he not have to be a dominant, top of your position player for an extended period of time, even two years to be a hall of famer?

Good lord, if there was a search function I could compare this to some of Devil 93’s greatest hits.

A landmark in strip mall city. Sadly, never ate there.

Agreed on Roethlisberger, but he's certainly an exception to the rule. I also agree to an extent that the rush was somewhat overrated. I can't tell you how many Pats fans believe the play should have been blown dead and Manning should have been ruled "in the grasp."

I disagree that it was a prayer into coverage. After making the escape, he spotted Tyree in single coverage and threw it to him. It was a jump ball, like so many others we see when receivers face single coverage. It did, indeed, become spectacular because Harrison's defense was very good on the play and he nearly knocked it loose. There were three other defenders in the general vicinity, but none particularly close to the play. It was an accurate, if high, throw.

Was always the best Chinese takeout within a decent driving time of campus.

    The guy won two rings

He currently sits sixth in completions, seventh in yards and 8th in touchdown passes.

For his career, the 10 most similar QBs are

    Hall of Famers
    Big Ben
    Moon
    Bradshaw
    Greise
    Montana
    Kelly

    Not Hall of Famers
    Hadl
    Bledsoe
    McNabb
    Palmer

So at worst I'd say there's a 60 percent chance he gets in. And he's going to get in. Multiple title-winning QBs with his longevitiy and stats get in.

Yeah, it was grit and desire. Or strength, if you prefer. He did what it took to hold onto the football. If you want to talk about bullshit cliches, let's call a guy strong-arming the football away from a defender "luck."

Oops, there you go again, making points about why Manning isn't an HoFer that don't involve Tyree. I think you're too worked up to understand the point being made. Dan Oregon pointed to a single play and said that if it hadn't happened, Manning wouldn't have had a HoF career. It's a patently fucking stupid argument.

You're simply arguing that Manning isn't a Hall of Famer, which is not the same discussion.

  10. Meanwhile ... no fine for Steelers' Bud Dupree for his hit on Wilson.

  11. How about future HOF'er Matty "Ice" Ryan?

  12. I can see the Chiefs being Vegas underdogs in one game the rest of the season: @ NE.
