Another CIS to NHL -- John LeBlanc, from UNB to cups of coffee in Vancouver and Edmonton. And of course, there was the good doctor -- Randy Gregg. Hope he's a better doctor than commentator ;)

Dr. Quinn announces the Sabres will use the old road blue as a third jersey for 15 home games (the max) this season. The leaked sluggalo is also the new logo but promises to the public that the whole package will be accepted by everyone; if not, blame him..

Meanwhile, a friend of mine who still lives in the area has told me the local sports radio station, WGR550AM, had a radio guy see the new uniforms back in NOVEMBER but has played as if he never saw them. They had a show where they discussed the new uniform and what they might look like, if the leaked logo was going to be it and such while the guy doing the show saw the uniforms but played stupid. He did say he saw them on his show I guess way back then. My question is this, if a newspaper or magazine got a quick look at a new uniform waaaaay before the announcment of it, would it be safe to assume that he/she would break the story on it? Why did a radio station not say what they were going to look like when half of WNY was about to burn down HSBC arena? Is it because the station is bending over for the organization and doesn't want to be in 'hot water'?

I don't know if I agree on his assessment of the Blues and Wild. First of all, St. Louis has so many holes and was so bad last year, I'm not sure how much difference it's going to make in the standings. As far as Minnesota, Demitra is a good addition but how excited can you get about Keith Carney and Kim Johnsson.

Wow, what kind of site is that?
I just ask because I covered Recchi with the Hurricanes and he was never anything less than gracious and respectful to the team, IIRC. He took a couple of bad penalties, but he also did a splendid job on the first line with Eric Staal, who only rang up a 15, 16-game point streak (the exact number is slipping from my head at the moment).

That's not the most serious of sites, obviously. However, there was LOTS of talk last year at more respectable places that Recchi was a problem in the room -- particularly with the younger guys. There aren't a whole lot of Pens fans that wanted to see him return.

My fuess is they were probably looking for some outside opinion, particularly someone who dealt with thye fans on a regular basis, but had obviously worked in a non-disclosure clause or agreement. If he hadn't signed the agreement I'm sure he never would have seen the jersey's. I don't have a huge problem with this. It's not like he can show a picture of the jersey's over the radio anyways. And while I don't think publicly, especially in our writting, we should be bending over for a franchise we cover, I see no problem in giving them a hand, on something as small as this, when it is completely off the books.

    Wings sign Hasek

Why oh why did Ken Holland have his heart set on a 40-some year old goalie? First Belfour, now Hasek.

Did someone forget to tell Holland that a 22-year old goalie won the Cup last year?

Dear God I cannot believe Ken Holland signed Hasek again.

Mike Millbury has taken over Ken Holland's brain.
