Stefan Liv. Goalie from Sweden. Drafted a few years ago, but he just came to the States this summer.

No way the Wings win the Cup next year. They have to retool a bit. But they've set a certain standard for their fans and Illitch. They can't go back to the era of the Dead Things like the 1970s. They have to be competitive while they work the kids in and a guy like Hasek gives them a chance to do that, buys Howard another year to develop into a number one and keeps the fans happy while they do.
Yeah he's a head case and a quitter, but when he's right, he's still a top goalie. And 41 is just the birth certificate. He's a gumby on the ice. How old is gumby?

Where is Legace now? Still a FA? He would have been better than Eddie in Fla.

Free agent. Hasn't got much attention from anyone. St. Louis has shown some interest and there's been one or two other teams. He's already proven he can be a top backup for some team in the league.

Big difference. Bower and Sawchuk were good. They didn't look like fish flopping all over the kitchen floor.

Who is Detroit's other future HofF goalie? I am one of the few fans Osgood has, but I don't even think he's Hall bound

Sorry, my mistake, thinking Belfour and Hasek were both in the Motor City now. Obviously that's not right.

Excuse me, but Hasek has won 6 Vezinas. Even at 41 and healthy, he may still be the best goalie in the league.

You may be right, JR. But that's a BIG if.

It's a huge if and this signing, although not a financial hit, is a big roll of the dice for the Wings.

From what I read he's not exactly the most popular guy in the room. I bet Osgood would love to get out of Dodge.

Excuse me, Nikolai Khabibulin has won a Stanley Cup. That doesn't mean I have to like the way he plays. I have never liked Hasek's style nor have I ever respected his approach to the game. Those six Vezinas are a slap in the face of pure hockey.
