Roy was just playing head games with other goalies in the Memorial Cup, saying that Moncton's goalie was playing over his head and that he'd come back to earth sooner or later.  He also said that Vancouver would probably have won all of their round-robin games if they had been getting good goaltending.

I might have missed some of the details, but that's basically what it was.  His argument was that even though he was publicly saying this about teenagers, that they should suck it up and deal with it if they want to play in the pros.  That as a member of the CHL, a development league, he was helping develop players for the pro ranks in every possible way.

thanks SeaBass, I hadn't heard that. My friends little cousin has lived with Roy the last few seasons, Joey Ryan.

Two years ago one of his best friends down here died, the friend was a goalie and Roy was his idol. Joey told Roy this, hoping he would call the family with his condolensces, instead Roy flew down to Boston, attended the wake, funeral and the reception at the parents house after the burial. I know the grandfather of the boy who passed, he told me how his family was "amazed" with how sincere Roy was, and it really helped the family deal with the tragedy that day.

I've never been a Roy fan, but that was a nice story

Guess this could go in this thread:

So, what's Malkin going to cost now?

This sucks. It makes it thatmuch more difficult for the Oilers to get Alex Mikhnov out of Russia. Their former first round pick is all set to come over and the Oilers basically had him penciled in on one of the top two lines. However, as a loop hole, all a player has to do is give his team two weeks notice that he is resigning. Russian labour law apparently is as long as you give two weeks you can quit your job, even if you have a signed contract. So in actuallity it may not cost them anything at all.

From today's Post-Gazette story, posted before the RHF's decision:
Now that may simply be a negotiating tactic. Either way, Pens fans are in full-blown meltdown. Of course, the fact that the team may be halfway to KC isn't helping matters.

    /bitter pens fanboy
//don't want to switch to full-on hurricanes fan
///though it was awesome going to the Stanley Cup Finals games in Raleigh

Some team out there will be very happey to sign Dumont when Buffalo fails to match the arbitrator's ruling at $2.9M. *sigh*

I know. Who is your favorite player/team by the way?

Wow, the Hawks got absolutely fleeced on this one. Looks like Tallon is intent on running that club even further into the ground.

Toronto Maple Leafs are the team and the player is a tie between Bobby Orr and Tiger Williams. If you mean active player, it's my friend's little brother, Chris Neil of the Ottawa Senators.
