Maybe this mom should read the school handbook first instead of last.

The kid's grades are bad enough that he isn't eligible to play and her concern is the $70 they spent?

Further reading of the full story reveals that the mother did not pay the participation fee for the football team. She bought a pair of cleats for $60 and wants reimbursed for them. Her son also received a physical for $10 through the school. That sounds like a bargain.

She should keep the sign up until someone springs to pay for tutoring sessions for her son. You go, Mom!

Around these parts, if you pay to play and your grades aren't up to the eligibility requirements, you are kicked off the team and sent home, no money returned.

I don't see what the big issue is.

You expect to reason with an angry mom?

She can apparently tutor him on the correct usage of too/to.

One of the mom's quotes from the story:
Anyone else seeing a possible correlation between mom's reading abilities and sonny boy's grade issues? Nah, must blame the big bad school district! ::)
