    Description:
    SPORTS WRITER/NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL

    South Bend Tribune

    South Bend, IN

The South Bend Tribune is looking for a hard-charging journalist to join our Notre Dame sports
group and become an essential member of a team covering Irish football. We're looking for
someone who can work on tight deadlines -- covering everything from ND football games to
recruiting news -- but also generate in-depth enterprise stories.
We want someone who can work well on a team, but also have the confidence to develop their
own stories. You will contribute to daily coverage, an annual football preview magazine, a
weekly game preview section, our primary digital platform (ndinsider.com) and a variety of social
    media channels, among other platforms.

A strong social media presence is essential, as is a willingness to participate in multi-media
projects and to field TV and radio appearances. This is a chance to flex your journalism muscle,
build your personal brand and cover one of the top college sports programs in the country.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience reporting on college or pro
sports for a newspaper, web site or other digital outlet; essential writing, reporting and editing
skills, as well as a working knowledge of relevant college sports are a must.

To apply, go to http://www.schurz.jobs/sbt and search for SBT2198. We offer a competitive
salary, benefits, PTO and 401(k). Applicants must be able to pass a background screen and
    drug test.

The South Bend Tribune is owned by a wonderful parent company, Schurz Communications,
Inc., which owns television, radio, cable and newspaper properties throughout the country.
Additional information on Schurz is available at www.schurz.com, and via the following video

Now that it's official, Mike Vorel of the Casper Star-Tribune got the job. He's already won something like five APSE top-10s. Great hire.
