OK, I'm really new at this and I know the responses are just going to be nothing short of Albom standing on a box in cowboy boots appropriate.
But Ms. Slappy and I are having a housewarming party on Saturday... her best friend decided that she was going to throw one for us and that was that...

Of course most of you are invited if you're in the hood (seriously. Some of you are like family -- insert your own southern joke here)... Once you find Sam Drucker's store it's easy... if you hit Tupelo, you've gone too far..

But having been an urban cave apartment dweller most of my life, I have no clue WTF to expect from a housewarming party other than provide food...

Soooo, ,what the hell goes on at a housewarming party and what do I have to do and expect?

Presents . . . and I always bring the best bottle of wine I can afford on my crappy salary.

I'll be making a pickup at Hooters.

I'll try to remember to order some wings to go, too.

Congratulations on the new house . . . it's so much better than renting. If I were going to be in Beautiful Downtown Slappyville this weekend, I'd probably bring wine AND a houseplant.

Just make sure none of your party guests upper-decks you.

Order the gourmet platter -- 100 wings and a bottle of Dom.

Slappy, you need your own space, all right? I'm thinking a poster to put over the tool bench in the garage (you do have a garage, right?) ... which team would you like? Or do we go with a swimsuit motif?

Nope, we have a car port... every home here has an attached garage or a carport.
Dont have a tool bench, but my dad has had one for years -- huge wood and heavy. How he got it in the basement of their house in the move from Michigan to Minnesota,I dont know. I do know that as much as I'd like it, the freight from Minnesota to the South would be (kindly) cost-prohibitive.
