Apparently, people are in an uproar over a parenting magazine featuring a mother breastfeeding her baby. Picture linked to story therefore may not be suitable for work.

Personally, I think people are being way too prudish over this, but we are in America, a land that has no problem with wanton violence but every problem with nudity and sexuality.

It kind of sounds as if the women are jealous that they aren't as blessed in that area and that their husbands may somehow discover this fact. Uhhh, honey, they already know.

With the angle of the photo, you really gotta look at it a couple of seconds to see that it's a boob. I'm not so sure that if I were standing in line at the supermarket and checking out the covers of mags that I'd even realize what the hell I was looking at.

But even if I did realize it, I wouldn't be offended. Damn, the kid's gotta eat.

That's what bottles are for, apparently, at least according to this crowd.

My wife breastfed both of our children and I felt truly blessed that she made that choice. It's a beautiful miracle to witness the mother of your children breastfeeding her babies. How people could be offended by that astounds me.

Not me. What else would the kid be sucking, her arm? And who's the baby looking up to? It's obvious with the photo, but for anyone who couldn't figure it out, there's the headline.

Two years ago, I covered a prep track meet. A woman there breast-fed her kid in the corner of the press box. She simply pulled the top down and let the kid go at it. Needless to say, I was uncomfortable with that, I never expected that. Couldn't she have walked 300 feet to the restrooms under the bleachers to do that? Couldn't she have walked to her classroom, blinds drawn, to do that? Apparently not.

I'm engaged, no kids. For guys like Bill Horton, I can understand how you might see breast-feeding women as a beautiful thing. But it's awkward for those of us who do not have kids, who are not familiar with that process, and who are not ready for kids at this point and time, to witness out in the open. It's startling to that segment of the public, which probably is what this magazine is finding out now.

    Kid's a very lucky baby.

I'm sure the father feels the same way.

I'm offended when they flop the boob out in the fast-food booth next to me. Breast-feeding is a wonderful, natural act of nature. So is urinating, but I'm not whipping it out in the street and letting loose.

Do it at home, or find someplace more discreet than in the middle of two dozen people having lunch at Arby's, or in the check-out line at the supermarket.

America has such a Puritanical view when it comes to sex and sexual organs that this is going to continue happening. Those upset by this need to grow the fuck up.

Equating breast feeding with urinating. Nice.

I guess if the girls-gone-wild crew came by, you'd be rushing to put robes on the girls?
