Paterno is going to have to push the Sgt. Schultz defense to unprecedented heights.

The AD and Finance guy are charged with perjury. Sandusky is the one in deep shit. The AD and Finance guy are going to be fired for covering up an investigation; prolly a cursory investigation that briefly pulled back the iron curtain of State College, peaked around quick and said 'OK. Nothing to see here.'

If Sandusky's guilty I hope they nail his ass to the wall.

Let's hope when he's finished with this case, the DA involved goes after the Catholic Church. He clearly has the stones.

Sorry, a perjury charge is serious stuff. As serious, in a different plane, as diddling kids.

According to the stories, Paterno does have at least technical deniability in that he did notify the AD Curley when he was told of the alleged abuse by the witness, but that will only fly so far: Paterno had/has complete top-to-bottom unconditional dictatorial authority over the football program and anybody and everybody associated with it. The fact that Curley was/is theoretically his superior is only a convenient fiction. If Paterno said "that pervert (Sandusky) never sets foot in my football building (or on the PSU campus) again," it would have been made so.

"Eyyyyaaaaaaaaah, 6-year-old boy comes to your hotel room, whayagonnado?"

Time for Joe, and all of his sycophants, to go.

Sandusky did "retire" at age 55 - so maybe Paterno did kick him to the curb in moral disgust but kept it quiet as not to sully Penn State's reputation.

Maybe, but he still allowed him to hang around the football building and run his "foundation" using university facilities.

If Paterno really knew about the situation and had "moral disgust" about it, Sandusky would have gone straight from Penn State to State Penn.

I read somewhere that Jerry Sandusky wrote an autobiography called "Touched."
