Getting/compelling him to actually do something with PETA is a good thing, but calling this "rigorous" is a joke. If he had to take classes five times a week until it is time for him to go to jail, as well as doing community service (working in animal shelters, posting fliers, meet-and-greets) and possibly be forced to watch dogs being euthanized, then write about it, I'd be satisfied. Hell, if he did that and did half the time prison time, I'd be pleased, since there's a better shot that he will have actually learned his lesson and taken it to heart. I know it's a long-shot, but it would be worth a shot.

Plus, it would save taxpayers a little bit of money from taking care of him in the klink.

I dunno ... I just don't tolerate people who abuse dogs. Other people? Fine. Cats? That's what they're there for (hi, sportschick ). But dogs? No way.
