    In her defense, this is perhaps the most rural of rural Missouri. This is “the sticks” to people who live in the sticks. Living there makes one suffer the kind of ennui that leads to really bad choices.

    I've been to St. Louis and KC. I have driven from STL to the Ozarks. Calling something in Missouri 'the sticks' is something else.

    It's 113 miles to the nearest interstate by car, for what it's worth. The closest big city is actually Memphis (Springfield doesn't count as a big city). Can't get much stickier.
