why do sports journalists listen almost exclusively to music that's 20 to 30 years old?

not being critical ... just shocked and curious

i mean, I love a lot of this stuff, but there's so much fantastic new music I can't imagine wanting to listen to stuff from the 1970s, 1980s or 1990s

I'd LOVE to hear some of today's "fantastic new music." Please, enlighten me.

It's weird. I'm 31 and I don't think I listen to more than a 1/2 hour of "modern music" (i.e. current Top 40) per year.

I only listen to clashic rock or 80s.

Sometimes, for shits and giggles, I listen to crap that was "cool" when I was in high school. You know, the stuff they played at dances.

again, i agree with you 100 percent, but i think i can hear the pitter padder coming from the feet of several defenders of crap rushing to this thread as we "speak."

Just saw the video for Johnny Cash's "Hurt" for the first time in a few years ... god darn, that might be the best, most haunting video ever made. It was right before June died, literally weeks, and she's in it.
