fork you meathead. That's like drinking ten gallons of seawater because you found the salad dressing a tad salty.

Joe Rogan Says He Endorsed Trump Due to Concerns About Tim Walz's Honesty
Walz needed to better learn lessons from MAGA.

Rather than get caught with little shirt like "Well, he was that rank, but then resigned early so while he'd been called that, technically..." he needed to lie bigger. "Yeah, I was the general, the highest general. In all the meetings. They all said, 'Can you believe this Tim guy, the highest general? He's so smart.' That's what they all said when I was the highest general. They came up to me and said 'Sir, excuse me, sir, I just wanted to tell you what a great general, the highest general, you are.'"

Funny thing about the Hegseth stuff, it is almost certainly being pushed by righties who either know he's a douche, want the job for themselves, or both!

Unrelated, just guess who won Fox Nation's "Patriot of the Year" award?

His mother blamed the media for the email which she wrote to him, said she apologized immediately to him after sending the email and and says he should be confirmed because that he's a changed man since she wrote the email. Well, if he's a such a changed man now, why did she immediately apologize to him for the email?

Joe Rogan Says He Endorsed Trump Due to Concerns About Tim Walz's Honesty

The Tim Walz lying/misspeaking stuff is was so much ado about nothing, and I agree with Garrow on the above. Unfortunately my governor always gave such poor answers when called on these things, when they were so easy to fix, especially with the way he normally communicated. For some reason they gave him troubles. His comms folks should have worked with him and came up with answers like these (my 2 cents anyway):

1. On serving overseas -- "No, I wasn't in combat, but I did work in artillery. And I was in Italy where I supported our forward-area troops. We have troops stationed all over the world whose job it is to support the entire U.S. military, especially efforts in forward areas. That was my assignment, and I'm proud of my duties there, just as we should be of anyone serving anywhere."

2. On lying about when/where he was in China -- "That was nearly 35 years ago, and I've always put those major life events into the same summer -- Tienanmen Square and my first trip to China as a teacher. While my memory failed me over time, it is true that I was in China, just not when the protests were taking place but a few months later. Memories are funny things, and we're not always accurate in our recall. But I've always had a great appreciation of the gravity of what went on there that summer, having been there not long after the massacre."

3. On leaving the reserves before running for Congress: "Our deployment was not announced prior to this, and my decision to retire was based on starting my campaign but also the recommendation from the reserves to retire due to my hearing -- something they wanted me to do earlier. And, come on, I was 41 years old. Did you really want a chubby, 41-year-old dad bod on the front lines for that mission?"

And, really, Joe Rogan? A couple of so-called lies by the VP? I honestly think he endorsed Trump because Harris didn't go on his pod. She should have. My guess is (as he told Trump), that would have been a good conversation. And maybe he doesn't endorse anyone after that.

You'd think that during vetting for the VP role (or any big one, like Cabinet or whatever) they would ask about the nitty gritty details.

"You've said you were in China in 1989. Fully explain that. When, what month(s), locations, what you were doing, everything. "

I mean, today's world of politics is going to dig up every friggin' thing as far back as possible. Or they're going to pounce on every statement or utterance, like "I was in Tienanmen" when maybe he/she wasn't. They're going to use it, leak it, whisper, plant, spread, all the things. Anyone who gets tapped for a position but doesn't believe this is an idiot. And any of the party leaders who don't force these questions in vetting is an idiot.

I just read Dowd's NYT column about when she and Gerald Boyd listened to a Bush official trying to bargain over John Tower's alcohol consumption to gain approval for the nomination.

Back then? No brainer that a womanizing lush wouldn't pass muster.

Now? Ehhh, well, y'know, his mommy said she didn't really mean the things the mean ol' NooYawkTahms printed and shouldn't have!
