    You would increase it.

EVs were at 531 before Alaska and Hawaii were admitted. They always increase with more states admitted.

538 only seems sacrosanct because none of us has a memory of anything different.

If we add Canada, do we all get their healthcare coverage?

    Nope.

Since 1913, the number of voting representatives has been at 435 pursuant to the Apportionment Act of 1911. The Reapportionment Act of 1929 capped the size of the House at 435. In 1959, upon the admission of Alaska and Hawaii, the number was temporarily increased to 437 (seating one representative from each of those states without changing existing apportionment), and returned to 435 four years later, after the reapportionment consequent to the 1960 census.

I would love a Schengen-like agreement between the US and Canada that would remove all passport controls and allow free movement much like between, say, France and Germany.

However, indications are Canada would oppose that to avoid the battalions of DUI offenders who would march into Ontario in formation to disrupt the Windsor Ballet.

Why would Canada voluntarily become a state ruled by another country after it worked for decades to gain full sovereignty in 1982? It is completely autonomous, has abundant natural resources, a globally significant economy, and a culturally diverse population.

There is absolutely nothing that Canadians gain by becoming subjects of another country again.

This is just another Trump fever dream amplified by morons on social media, not reality.

um, cfl plays the nfl for a real Super Bowl?

if it’s one country, the decades of no Canadian teams winning a Stanley Cup is ruled moot.

Never. And it's never happened with any independent nation whose citizens have any desire to remain independent.

It's all horse crap, it could never happen without military action or Corleone-style "an offer you can't refuse" economic blackmail. But Fatfuck loves all that stuff.

This is Fatfuck's idea of ideal international relations:

Took that long for that story to hit the mainstream? It's more than a week old.

(Larger point stands, though. Because the people running Louisiana didn't like vaccines and would certainly be on board with RFK Jr. running HHS, this is what we see.)

If this becomes a nationwide trend, the number of people literally dying on the streets could be staggering.
