There have been more and more of these cars/trucks on the road lately, and I always wonder why. This has to be THE ugliest vehicle ever made, bar none.

The only thing about it that some people, especially MAGA types, probably like about it is that it is kind of intimidating, coming off like a half-finished tank, or something, even though it's not as big as that, when you see it up close or nearby.

Every time I see one of them, I think someone dug up a vehicle left over from the old Buck Rogers in the 25th Century show I watched as a kid and thought it would be funny to drive it around.

I think that a lot of those people get hardened to root for whatever their side is doing. I think that has always been true and is not just a GOP thing, but these past few years, I've observed this country getting nastier and nastier on the right. Friends of mine who were perfectly reasonable people 8 years ago parrot every right wing talking point which they see on TV or online, from the assassination attempt on Trump being caused by the FBI to the drug companies invented Covid to get rich on the vaccines. We had a gathering at our house this week and had to listen to a couple explain that they are taking supplements which they saw on a YouTube channel which were recommended by RFK, Jr. because he's actually the only person speaking honestly about health care in the country.

There is a loop of right wing institutional mistrust of what they call mainstream media, along with the popularity of extreme views and the utter fealty to Trump which creates an acceptance of these views. So, I'm guessing that arresting people in churches will be widely cheered by the vast majority of people who voted for Trump, as well as the GOP members of Congress.

My city is probably the capital for Tesla vehicles. Worst one I saw coming into my tract was the truck painted aqua. Horrible. We came up behind one at a red light recently. It looked like a pickup truck with a dumpster mounted on the back. I was waiting for my wife at a hair-styling appointment and one of the stylists in a nearby station said they looked like they belong in a trash dump.
