Probably nerdy/definitely newbie camera question

    Hi all-

This is my first post here, so I'll begin with a quick introduction. I'm the sports editor at a weekly in North Dakota, and I've been here for about six months since moving from Nebraska. Where I'm at now is the first shop I've worked in, as I had an exclusively online background before taking my current job.

Anyway, I'm always looking for new ideas in terms of my sports pages, and that includes the art. I have a high school hockey team and a college team to cover, and I've been thinking about making a net camera setup for one of my DSLRs. I've seen one website that sells kits for net cam housings, but I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to just make a DIY project out of it.

Have you ever done this or heard from colleagues that have? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
