Radio station fires Syracuse.com writer for being too negative

Objectivity appears to be subjective. In this case, it got a Syracuse.com writer fired from a radio station after the station CEO complained he was too negative and had some sort of agenda against Syracuse athletics.

The CEO's quotes casually points out that the station is business partners with Syracuse and he is personal friends with Jim Boeheim. Never a dull moment in college athletics!

Dumb, but I get it. Nobody has ever accused a radio station of being a beacon of journalistic integrity, and this radio station really does appear to being in the business of Syracuse athletics.

As anyone has covered college athletics knows, fans are irrationally protective of their schools. The message board negatively they’ll accept, but from the media? Then it is time to fight. I don’t doubt that the station owner was receiving a lot of complaints (especially if he runs in Syracuse-loving circles).

Radio CEO admitted he's a slobbering SU knob-gobbler and didn't like his favorite team being treated all meany-poo by the terrible newspaper writer. So, at least he admitted it instead of hiding behind some kind of "we're restructuring" crapola.

Sounds as if the program is popular enough to be picked up by another Syracuse radio station that isn't in the Orange's pocket.

Or as they say in politics, alternate facts.
