    Christ... EXACTLY.

    How ridiculous.

If Landis is/was clean, his win gave it a shot for next year. Now, who knows?

Here's what I would like to know, and I mean it legitimately ... IF Armstrong doped, as much of the theoretically evidence suggests, then why hasn't he popped in actual drug and doping tests?

I think the theory is that Armstrong used his vast fortune to hire the best doping minds in the world and stay ahead of the testing. Of course, he wasn't a multi-millionaire when he won his first TdF or his world championship.

From listening to ESPN radio on the way in, and hearing their cycling expert, here's what it sounds like:

    1. He wasn't high on testosterone. Apparently, he was LOW on testosterone, throwing off his testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio. Folks are baffled as to how this could happen.
    2. As has been mentioned several times, every time this test has been challenged in the international court, the athlete has won.

So, from the sounds of things, even if the "B" proves positive, Landis will beat this test.

And, FWIW, this thread would be much more enjoyable/informative if the political trolls would create their own fucking thread.

So you are saying .... Floyd is really Floydetta?

  8. So what are the ramifications if he's low on testosterone? Does that make his comeback even more amazing? Or does it make it more plausible?

Does anyone recall the French news video from 2000, when a camera crew followed a U.S. Postal Service team car as it dumped IV bags with blood in what appeared to be the woods? One of the most sketchy things I've ever seen ... but I admit that I'm not sure whatever came of the investigation that followed. Anyone know?

Actually, we backed off the political debate and have refocused our attention, sir.

FWIW, AP is still reporting HIGH levels of testosterone, it looks like somebody's wrong about what he tested positive for.

I'm taking the approach that he's innocent until proven guilty. Since I don't cover cycling, I'll pass that buck to someone who does. Plenty - both with and without an agenda - have tried, and Armstrong has yet to be nailed. If he's proven guilty, I'll be disappointed, but I'll accept it. Until then, though, all those drug tests he's taken have to count for something.
