Worked with him for five years. Anything positive you heard about him wasn't enough. Ahead of his time when it came to recruiting, and an even better man.

Worked Florida high school sports for several years. Bill taught me how to cover state track and was a great counsel to a young guy.

    RIP Bill.

I started my career in Leesburg and crossed paths with Bill several times. RIP to a giant.

Amazing man and amazing writer. He lived and breathed Florida high school sports. 1962! He started working about the time Alan Shepard went up into space.

Also one of the few high school writers who care more than just about football and basketball. When some kid won a race in the state high school track meet, Buchalter likely had seen him in an AAU meet the summer before.
Was the first guy I knew of who had a 900 recruiting hotline. I'd like to think he made some money out of that.

Knew Bill well. Great guy. He and my other long-time friend Durward Buck were a big part of a great time of coverage for Florida High school sports.
