A legendary member of great Cleveland Browns teams.
    Bert's father.
    Died Saturday at 99.

A part of NFL history gone. I wonder if the NFL Network will acknowledge this death. It's sad, but 99, hell, that's a leader in the clubhouse score to post.

He was a couple of months short of 100, which is too bad he couldn’t make it that far.

Those Browns teams absolutely dominated the AAFC and weee top contenders in the NFL. RIP

On a side note, I sure wish Bert Jones could have had the long NFL career he deserved.
Never a Colts fan, but I always thought he was one of the best and smartest QBs around.

RIP Dub, though. A great player and competitor himself!

Bert's brother Tom Jones played for Lou Holtz for a cup of coffee.

Famously scored six tds in a game. But what is less well known is he only had 12 touches (9 rushing attempts and three catches). He had 196 yards from scrimmage in that game. His last two touchdowns were a 43 yard run and 43 yard catch.
