Journal News Giants writer Ernie Palladino remembered for being kind, sharp and tough

I didn't know him personally, but I liked running his Giants stories in our paper when we were owned by Gannett. His writing style was almost conversational, like you and him were having a one-on-one about the story of the day. Reading Facebook posts from my friends who covered the Giants in the 80s and 90s, it seemed he stuck up for the young writers who were new on the beat.

Ernie was incredibly talented and such a great guy. A total pro and always had time for everyone.

And funny as hell. Damn, this sucks.
