I've already heard that twice this year, about a week ago. It showed up on my radio display as "I Believe in Fat".

If I were Carl Palmer, I think I'd lay low the next three weeks.

I really got in to ELP back in the day. I convinced my mom that a piano solo was Mantovani so I could listen in the car when I drove her somewhere. Good call on having CP lay low. A snob drummer friend, who was a Buddy Rich disciple, went from saying about Palmer, "Drumming is not gymnastics" to "Yeah, he is pretty damn good."

    Wow, great musician.
I dig ELP, but that first Crimson record is a landmark work.

Had an ELP listening session after Emerson passed. Your typical progressive rock stuff with some extra-long stuff, but most of it was an enjoyable listen.

Also, what many may not know was that he was a member of Asia for all of one televised concert in 1983 or '84. The band made a big deal of a concert at Budokan to be aired on MTV (although I heard that came about because the second album and concert ticket sales tanked so they cancelled a good part of the tour), but in between the announcement and show, lead singer John Wetton (another ex-King Crimson guy) left the band over creative differences and they recruited Lake to take over.

I was a fan of the band and saw the MTV concert and thought he did a good job, but after that he left and Wetton came back.
