    RIP. I remember him often having a lighthearted touch to his work on Page 2. Back before everything on that outlet became screaming and trolling.

    Damn that was terrific. And absolutely heart-breaking that the All-Star Game in Seattle was the site of so many goodbyes this year.

    One of the absolute best things I've ever read in my life. I met Jim for the first time in Mpls in the early 90s and he was so kind and nice. Even though our paths crossed just a few more times after that -- typically when we both worked at TWWL -- he always was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Unfortunately, I can't say that about a lot of people in the business today, people who will stab you in the back and think nothing of it. Jim always sought to help, not hurt. He was such a great writer, too. It was a hell of a legacy he left.
