Roe v. Wade to be overturned?

You're right. Cornyn today authored a tweet that suggested yesterday's tweet was short on context.

I actually understood his tweet before he tweeted again. For me, the context was the tweet he was responding to.

Obama's tweet said the ruling was wrong because it overturned 50 years of precedent. I understood his point to be, "Really, was Brown v. Board of Ed wrong because it overturned decades of precedent?"

His mistake was not assuming that there would be people who are really charged up, and would be quick to yell "racist!" without following him.

Well if Plessy equals Roe in the eyes of the RightWing. They can have the SEC except Florida south of Orlando, West Va, North Carolina, Oklahoma Iowa and Ohio. Let's call it now. It's irreversible and irrevocable. We can have treaties but we are 2 separate countries.

I have to say, that I'm probably more disheartened than I have ever been. How did we get to this point? Where a woman can literally be told what to do with her body for a fetus which is not viable? Where there are probably at least 4 votes on the court upholding laws banning contraception and same-sex relations?

My son turned 14 yesterday and I prefaced the obligatory FB post about his birthday/middle school graduation with "on a day where we can all use some good news" and I got tons of nasty responses from FB friends of my wife (who does a lot of social media for her business and tries to stay apolitical) about how this was one of the greatest days in American history.

I agree. It's a brutal point made in other discussions along the way, and gosh darn babies are cute, but adults have fully formed and developed lives, and established families and friends, and responsibilities, and a buncha more responsibilities if they already have other children, and jobs and roles that contribute to society – a whole long list of invaluable treasures to them and others.

You telling me that Mama gotta die sometimes for a fetus that poses serious life threats to the woman carrying him/her/them?

It's sad and tragic all around, but our primary responsibilities are, and should always be, the health and safety of the adult first.

And, again, it's a brutal but relative point. Who doesn't love babies? But this movement is a more brutal crime against women.

That's awful. Was it her intention to say "white," or was it a major Freudian slip?

She did stumble there, and I wonder what caused it. She gonna pay for it, though, so tough shirt anyway, Congresswoman.

Reminds me of this:

Interesting choice of female to display. A woman so deeply ugly on the inside she couldn't a man to impregnate her. Had to buy her children. She's everything she hates. Single parent, career minded, no father figure in the house. The ultimate feminist elitist poussing as a populist. If a yeast infection has a face, Laura.

Except he countered Obama's tweet lamenting how people's rights were taken away by wanting Obama—a Black man by the way—to then talk about the elimination of a precedent that oppressed Black people as if the two things were some how the same thing. His mistake was not forgetting people would call him a racist. His mistake was making the comparison in the first place and thinking he should Tweet it out. But please, tell me I'm wrong for thinking we shouldn't make excuses for oppressors.

Trying very hard to not wish people ill right now.

Women are going to needlessly die because if this.

I've collected stories of vindictive creeps: clergy who wanted to control their female congregants, what I call the Wichita wealthy who did damage control when their girlfriends threatened to go to their wives with news of a baby, the bitter, jealous hags who looked like unclaimed loaves on day eight at the bread store. I know how this works out. This is where and when the Eldritch Horrors chewed through the straps and took over, May God have mercy on us all.
