Roethlisberger in motorcycle accident?

You would think people would know better, given today's terrible driving incident.

Not about to plow thorough 19 pages, and not to sound cold-hearted about all of this, but it's tough to muster up any sympathy for Big Ben right now.

1. Motorcycles are dangerous because they're tougher to see, and if you crash, there's nothing to hold you in place. You show the world just how brittle the human body can be.

2. If you ride sans helmet, you're fucking stupid. No two ways about it... if you choose not to protect your head from the pavement while going any faster than 10 mph, you're fucking stupid.

3. If you're an professional athlete whose livelihood depends on the well being of your body, and you still choose to do both 1 and 2... I can't feel sorry for you, even if the circumstances of the accident are not your fault. Riding a motorcycle is just something you CAN'T do if you want to have career longevity in any sport, much less the NFL.

This accident is unfortunate, but it's not tragic. It's a situation Roethlisberger should have known better than to be in. Shit, it's a situation ANY  of us should know better than to be in.

Tragic is Joe Delaney drowning while trying to save three kids. Tragic is Roberto Clemente dying in a plane crash on a humanitarian mission. Tragic is not Roethlisberger (or anyone else) seriously injuring themselves when they should have the common sense to know better.
