  1. i think i need a new wirelsss router.
Having a lot of connection issues at the house the last few days and i suspect it is the router.
I bought it a few years ago. A linksys EA6900
We now have no less than 10 devices connected to our internet. I think the router is maxed out .
Any recomendations on a new one?

Have you done a hard reset?

Have you tried changing the password, anything else?

Does it operate on multiple frequencies? Do you have a cordless phone on the same frequency as the router? A neighbor in my parents’ building did, so every time I was there and that person dialed someone, I was screwed.

Any chance you need to boost your speed package with your provider?

  5. I did a reset last night.
    No I haven't password.
No cordless phones. It does operate on multiple frequencies. And we have a booster upstairs in the hall.
I don't think we can boost the speed package.

What issues are you having? It's entirely possible that your gateway (cable/dsl) is the problem.

  7. The devices are lagging, won't connect or drop connection. A lot.

OK ... probably is the router.

Before you buy one willy nilly, check with your internet provider to see if you need anything specific. We have Comcast and when our modem/router bit the dust a couple of years ago (it was 10 years old and obsolete with newer technology on their end, so we were starting to have regular outages) there were a couple of specs we had to hit. Nothing exotic, but there are a couple of different types out there and it helps to know what you're looking for.
I think ours is an Arris Surfboard that's a combined cable modem and router. Works like a champ. I think it was somewhere around $150-$200, but it's cheaper than buying the two components separately. And if you need a new router, it might not hurt to upgrade the modem as well if it's more than a few years old.

Also, have you looked at wifi extenders? I added one in a far part of my house ($30 plug in to electrical outlet) and it opened up the rear of the house to much better reception.

That said, bought this last year:

NETGEAR Smart WiFi Router with Dual Band Gigabit for Amazon Echo/Alexa - AC1750 (R6400-100NAS)

Step up to 5G and works very smoothly.
