Running 2006 World Series Of Poker Thread

dragonman49...I usually play the 180-person, $20 sit and gos or the $55 single table sit and gos. I haven't been playing a lot lately, but if you see me on there, say hello. And watch out for "boilingfish." That's the Berryman kid I mentioned before.

Maybe he didn't have much cash on him at the time?

shirt, if I just won $7.5 million, I'd have a thousand things on my mind other than the correct amount to tip the dealers.

Hach had $7 million on him at the time ... they keep the cash, I believe.

Fred, give us some more local color from Vegas ... can't get enough of the behind-the-scenes stuff.

It was a zoo. They had to make the spectators leave 20 minutes before break so we could get out. You basically then had 20 minutes to wait in a 15 minute line for the restrooms before getting back. I actually missed two hands the first time. I have never seen so many people in my life cramped in one small area.

That first table was spectator central. At one point I look up, and there are probably 200 people standing behind us watching. When Ferguson strolls up to the empty chair, I hear a kid say, "how cool is this? Jesus and Annie at the same table!"

I turned around and told him it was cool unless you were sitting at the table across from them. I think that might make ESPN, because they had the boom on us.

Men the Master was at the table next to us. You aren't allowed cell phones on the floor. Unless you are Men, apparently. He spent half the time checking on his pupils via cell.

At one point, Brad Garrett was in timeout and came over and vented to us and asked Annie for tips on how not to use the F word at the table.

Probably my last real highlight was being at the table next to Doyle when he went out. That delayed things about 20 minutes thanks to the standing ovation.

Nobody applauded when I went out.

Congrats -- sounds like an awesome experience.

You must be really good to have qualified twice....I tried a few qualifiers on PS. The closest I got was final 18 in a field of about 250. Had AK, flopped a king, bet it and was called. Another king comes out on the turn, I move in and am very happy to get a call.....only to find out the other guy had flopped a set of 9's and had made his full house as I made trips. I couldn't have gone anyway, but anyway, congrats.

Thanks. More lucky than good. I caught cards at the right time in the qualifiers. You should keep firing for next year. It's worth trying once.

My one real highlight Saturday was a poor guy was short stacked next to me...He had about $2,600 left when the blinds were 200-400 with $50 antes. He was SB and I was BB, and the table folded around to us. He moved all-in trying to take the blind, which was a pretty good move at that point no matter what he had (7d-10c), because I was down to about $5,400 and would be crippled if I called with nothing. Unfortunately for him, that was the one time all day I had pocket kings.

Another big pro goes down.

Robert Varkonyi Eliminated
Shortly after losing a coin flip with K-Q vs. pocket 3's, Robert Varkonyi is eliminated. He receives a round of applause from his table as well as surrounding tables.

Raymer and Hachem are both treading water right now.

Someone let me know when/if Ivey goes out.

Safe for today. His Day Two was yesterday. Day Three starts, for everybody I believe, tomorrow.

Edit: My bad -- tomorrow is day off for main event. Friday is Day Three in full.

That's OK; I have a crush on Jennifer Harmon ;D

Ugh, I thought she was kinda cute until I found out she used to be with Lederer (before his gastric-bypass) and Todd Brunson (yuk!).
And according to my good friend, she has the personality/social skills of a table.
