BTW, Tiafoe might be the current darling of American men’s tennis, but McEnroe has spent this entire match ripping him about his lack of intensity, focus and a plan and his “mediocre” shots.

Don't have the stats to back it up, but I swear Serena plays more three-set matches than any elite player should play.

Just this tournament Sofia Kenin has played zero, Madison Keys zero, Jennifer Brady zero, Petra Kvitova one, Elise Mertens zero, Victoria Azarenka zero, Serena Williams two.

Two weeks ago she played two matches . . . both three-setters.

McEnroe on Tiafoe's performance: "Pitiful would be a pretty apt description. One of the worst matches I've seen on center court in ages."

And I’d take Serena in a third set against any of them.

Serena's at that point where after she takes the first set, she tries to throttle back and see if it's good enough to get by.

Fowler is terrific on tennis. Better than on football, imo.

Serena lost a third set 1-6 last week. She lost a third set to Qiang Wang in the Australian in January. Just sayin'.

The less time Serena has to be on the court, the better for her. Her biggest issue is holding up through seven matches.

    Kenin is crumbling.

Kenin goes down and looks awful doing it. One thing she does exceedingly well is hit her spots. Tonight she couldn’t do that — wasn’t even close, finishing with 26 unforced errors in 18 games — and if she can’t do that she’s got nothing. Meanwhile, Mertens was precise and clean — seven unforced errors for the match — to win easily.

With one of the unseeded women a two-time major champion with 51 weeks ranked No. 1. :)

Well, that was easy. Jen Brady just destroyed Putintseva to get to the semis.

She's on fire. She has athleticism and firepower. I've heard a couple of the commentators say she's been the best player in the draw so far. I'll be very interested to see her face Osaka (or Shelby Rogers, who's been equally hot) in the semis.
