Running 2020 Tennis Thread

When he hit this shot against Tiafoe, I told my wife, "I have dreams about hitting a drop shot like that."

 

I apologize, all I've seen him hit are those flat rockets which he used to pulverize Tiafoe and Rublev. I didn't see any of the off-pace shots.

 

No apology necessary. Like I said, he changes tactics depending on his opponent. I didn't see much of the match (I do have a real job), but he knows Rublev very well and he might have figured he could overpower him.

 

Mertens looks anything but rock-solid steady in this match. And Vika looks like she's having a grand old time.

 

Wow. Gotta say I did NOT see this coming.

 

I wasn't a big Azarenka fan the first go-round, but I find her incredibly easy to pull for now. Of course I'm watching with the sound off which might help.

 

Her post-match interviews -- on the court and in the studio -- were awesome.

 

Thiem rolls, as expected. Just a shame the Thiem-Medvedev match will be a semi, not the final. It should be a great one.

This match is every bit as good as I thought it would be.

 

She definitely seems to be the tireder (is that a word?) of the two.
